My name is Summer Hammons. My Indian Name is Lahoose. My mom is Lena Hammons (Tulalip Tribal Member) and my dad is Mark Hammons. My Grandmother was the late Rose J. Fryberg who was married to the late Gerald Fryberg at the time of her passing. My great grandparents on my moms side parents were Joe Jimicum Sr. and Lena Jones. I come from the Jones and Jimicum families. I am a Tulalip tribal member running for the 2026 election for the Tulalip Board of Directors. I have three grown Children (all tribal), Skyler Hatch, Drew Hatch, and Tony Arlene Hatch. My boys work in the public works division and my daughter loves to work with children Quilceda elementary. We love to work for our community.
My background:
Currently, I am a Legislative Policy Analyst who works for the Treaty Rights & Governmental Affairs Department for the Tulalip Tribes. Prior to that, I worked as the Director of Employment Rights and as the Director of Table Games for Tulalip Resort and Casino. I come from many years of experience in Gaming, Employment Rights, and Tribal Government.
I really am thankful to Tulalip for my career in advocating, being in community, our Culture, our Treaty Rights, our Sovereignty and to follow our teachings in our rich culture
Along with our team, the division I work for currently helps protect treaty rights of the 1855 Point Elliott treaty as well as actively involved in government affairs. With the Tribes government to government relationship with the State and Federal Government, I advocate for our tribal community.
